What do the frequencies mean?

In modern sound meditation, people give these tones spiritual meanings and use them as reminders of an intention. The associations below reflect those beliefs. Chakra connections vary between teachers and are not scientifically established effects of a particular tone.

174 Hz · Comfort and grounding

Often associated with feeling rooted, supported, and at ease. Some sound healing descriptions connect it with pain relief or releasing muscle tension, but this tone is not an established pain treatment.

A gentle intention: “I allow myself a moment of comfort.”

285 Hz · Renewal and restoration

Symbolically associated with renewal, grounding, and caring for the body. Claims about repairing tissue or strengthening immunity have not been established for listening to this frequency.

A gentle intention: “I care for myself with patience and kindness.”

396 Hz · Letting go of fear and guilt

Used in some spiritual practices as a focus for releasing fear, guilt, or heaviness. Some teachers connect it with the Root Chakra, representing a sense of safety and belonging. Let the theme guide a reflection rather than expecting the tone to remove difficult feelings.

A gentle intention: “I can meet this moment with a little more kindness.”

417 Hz · Change and new beginnings

Associated with making room for change and moving beyond old patterns. It can be a symbolic companion when you want a fresh start. Listening does not replace support or treatment for trauma.

A gentle intention: “I welcome one small, hopeful beginning.”

432 Hz · Quiet reflection

Often described in spiritual listening communities as a natural or harmonious frequency. “Music tuned to 432 Hz” usually means its reference note, A, is set to 432 Hz. That music contains many pitches. This player instead produces a single 432 Hz tone. Neither description establishes that it is the universe’s special frequency.

A gentle intention: “I make space for a quiet moment.”

528 Hz · Love and renewal

Often called the “Love Frequency” or “Miracle Frequency” in modern sound healing communities. People use it as a symbol of love, transformation, and renewal. Research into frequency based listening is preliminary; it does not establish that this pure tone repairs DNA or reliably lowers cortisol.

A gentle intention: “I welcome love and treat myself with care.”

639 Hz · Connection and harmony

Associated with compassion, communication, and harmony in relationships. Some teachers connect it with the Heart Chakra. You might use the listening moment to think about someone you love, or a kind conversation you would like to have.

A gentle intention: “I listen with kindness and speak with care.”

741 Hz · Clarity and releasing negativity

Used symbolically for clearing mental clutter, expressing yourself, and letting go of unhelpful patterns. “Cleansing” can be understood as a reflection theme. Listening to this tone has not been shown to detoxify cells or remove toxins from the body.

A gentle intention: “I make room for what matters to me.”

852 Hz · Intuition and inner stillness

Associated with intuition, inner reflection, and spiritual awareness. Some teachers connect it with the Third Eye Chakra. Use it as an invitation to pause and notice your thoughts, rather than a promise to clear spiritual blockages or stop overthinking.

A gentle intention: “I pause and listen to my inner wisdom.”

963 Hz · Spiritual connection and oneness

Sometimes called the “Frequency of God” in modern sound meditation. It is associated with the Crown Chakra, also called Sahasrara, and with themes of spiritual connection, awareness, and oneness. These are spiritual interpretations. Claims that the tone activates the pineal gland have not been established.

A gentle intention: “I feel connected to something greater than myself.”

What about 7.83 Hz and the Earth’s “heartbeat”?

The Schumann resonances are natural electromagnetic resonances between Earth’s surface and the ionosphere, generated by lightning. Their lowest resonance is around 7.83 Hz. This is an electromagnetic phenomenon, not a sound recording of the Earth.

A 7.83 Hz pure tone is below the usual range of human hearing, so it is not included in this player. Recordings marketed with that number may use an audible sound pulsed at that rate, or a difference between two tones. Those are different experiences from reproducing Earth’s electromagnetic resonance, and the number alone does not establish a sleep or brainwave benefit.

A listening practice can have personal meaning without needing to promise a cure. Keep what feels comforting, and let your own experience guide you.

This player makes a steady, pure tone. Headphones are optional. Stop if a sound feels uncomfortable. Playback may pause when your phone locks or your browser goes to sleep.
